Unlocking equity investment is a significant challenge for community-led housing schemes. To date, community-led housing has been supported by public grant in recognition of its ability to deliver additional homes, integrated social value outcomes, and diversification of the housing market. To secure all these benefits in the long term, the sector must move beyond grant funding and towards a financially sustainable model.
